Someone holding a list

Here is a basic guide to tell you when you may need to pay for your social care service. Your local council will tell you how they make their decision. It may be different to this.

If you have less than £12,750 in savings

You may not have to pay for any of your social care service.

Your council will look at how much money you have coming in before they decide.

Money

If you have between £12,750 and £21,000 in savings

You will have to pay for some of your social care service.
