2. The standards that you should expect from your social care service

It is important to know what standards to expect from your social care service.

 

List of standards

The Government has set some standards that it thinks all social care services should meet.

The standards are called the National Minimum Standards.

Here are some of the things that the National Minimum Standards say.

 

My rights

You have a right to:

  • Be treated with respect
  • Look after your money and spend it in the way that you choose
  • Choose the food that you eat
  • Complain if you are not happy with the service that you get
