Choosing the right social care service for you (page 2 of 2)
Here are some things you can do to help you choose the right
social care service
1. Look at
the inspection report for the social care service you are
interested in

We inspect all social care services. This means we visit each
social care service to make sure the service is doing a good
job.

We write a report about each social care service we visit. The
report is called an inspection report. It talks
about what the social care service does well and what it needs to
do better.

You can ask us for short versions of our inspection reports in
different languages and formats.
2. Look at the quality rating for the social care
service you are interested in

We now give all social care services a quality rating. The
quality ratings are an easy way for you to see how good we think a
social care service is.

We use stars to show what quality rating we have given to a care
service.
The more stars we give a care service, the better we think the
care service is:
• 3 stars *** - this means the service is excellent
• 2 stars ** - this means the service is good
• 1 star * - this means the service is adequate
• 0 stars – this means the service is poor

You
can find quality ratings in our inspection reports and you can also
search for them on our website.

the social care service

service is like.
