What we look for when inspecting councils
CSCI uses the evidence we gather through inspecting
care services to help councils improve.
We use inspections to check on the quality of the services
provided by a local council. We will look at how well local
services actually meet the needs of the people who use them and the
quality of advice and guidance the council provides.
We also use inspections to encourage councils to make
improvements to the way they deliver services and to improve the
results for local people.
We will also use them to promote the public accountability of
local councils to their communities.
