Before an inspection
Find out what we do before inspecting a care home or
care service.
We decide how well care homes and services are doing by asking
those people who know most about them.
We ask:
- the people who use the services, their families and supporters
(people who speak up for or advocate for the person using
services)
- owners’ and managers’ about the quality of their
services and how they find out what people using their service
think of it
- the staff who work for the services
- social services and health professionals
This information and our assessment of the detailed information
sent to us by the service's owner or manager, and any other
relevant information we have received since the last
inspection helps us decide what we need to look at during an
inspection.
