Star ratings report 2006
30 November 2006
Many councils have improved their annual star rating for adults’
social care services - plus ten new councils have achieved the top
three-star rating, says our 2006 star ratings report.
The star ratings are judged on how well councils are running
social care services for adults in 2006.

The report’s key findings include:
- 25 councils improved their star rating in 2006
- ten new councils have achieved the top three-star rating
- only 33 councils managed one-star rating
- there are no zero-star rated councils.
Our Chief Inspector Paul Snell said: “This is CSCI’s first
dedicated analysis of adult social care, putting the spotlight
specifically on services for adults.
“There is much good news in today’s report, and we congratulate
all those councils that have improved their services over the last
year.”
