More people who use services take part in our work
24 July 2007
There has been a big rise in the number of people who use
services helping us with our inspections and the planning of
our work.
This comes from our third annual report, launched today.

Success points
We are still listening to people who use
services as part of our inspection work, plus we are putting in
place ways to assess councils based on the quality of the services
used by them.
Our Chair, Dame Denise Platt, said: "In all of our programmes
throughout the year we maintained our focus on improving outcomes
for people who use social care."
You can read some comments from people who use
services in our report. One person said:
"Many providers seem to think that the council is the customer,
as they often pay the fees - but it’s not: people who use the
service are the customers."
