Council self-assessment survey report 2008

17 October 2008

Find out about trends in council performance and delivery.

The self-assessment survey (SAS) report contains our feedback to councils about overall trends in performance and delivery, based on councils’ self-assessment statements for 2007-08.

The report makes comparisons with previous years and with councils’ plans for 2008-09 as appropriate.

Performance is reported against the seven outcomes for adult social care set out in the White Paper Our health, our care, our say. These are:

  • Improving health and emotional well-being
  • Improved quality of life
  • Making a positive contribution
  • Increased choice and control
  • Freedom from discrimination
  • Economic well-being
  • Maintaining personal dignity and respect

We have added two more outcomes, which encompass elements of the outcomes above but focus on:

  • Leadership
  • Commissioning and use of resources
