Working with others to guide our work

Find out how we engage with people who use or work in social care to shape our responses to government policy.

We have five groups, called service improvement boards, which bring together a range of experts in social care.

The boards help to guide our work and shape our responses to government policy for the benefit of people who use services.

Members of the boards, which meet about four times a year, include:

  • people who use services
  • carers
  • service providers
  • commissioners of social care
  • policy officers.

Each board focuses on a different group of social care users:

  1. Older people
  2. People with a learning disability
  3. People with a physical or sensory disability
  4. People with mental health problems.
