Best practice guidance on the role of Director of Adult Social Services
CSCI has submitted a response to the Department of Health
consultation on the on the role of the DASS. It follows our
response to the parallel consultation on the Green Paper on the
future of adult social care.
In our response we broadly welcome the guidance, which helps to
clarify future leadership arrangements for social care.
But we are concerned that the core, non-negotiable elements of
the role – leadership, quality, accountability and protection -
need to be given greater emphasis.
